I personally love all the Pagan festivals celebrated in the UK like the one to celebrate Spring and the other one to celebrate the bleak mid-Winter. Though I don't like the one that's coming up at the end of the month....Originally posted by Old Greg View PostI don't have an ounce of religious sentiment, but I dropped off some food this morning at school for Harvest Festival. I don't see anyone organising this in the town, and if they are inspired to do so because they believe that 2,000 + years of teaching and thought has a supernatural significance, then so be it - I'm glad someone's doing it. Better than being a miserable bugger who never does any good in his life.

Terrible, Exorcist 3 is pretty decent though and nurse station scene is easily the scariest bit in a movie. Ever.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostExorcist 2 was crap though.

Every society believes in morality because there is clear evidence of it. People usually (not always) believe in their local religion (or at least a watered down version of it) because they had it forced on them when they were children.Originally posted by d000hg View PostEvery society believes in morality, that is at least as man-made as religion.

There is not a country in world where murder does not play a part but I am not sure we really want to encourage it.Originally posted by d000hg View PostPerhaps the fact that there is no society in the world where religion does not play a part?
