Yep, definately a correlation of interview number/length vs how good the gig will be.
The more onerous the process the happier I am when I don't get offered it.
The best line I've had in feedback was we like you and your CVm but you've not done many jobs longer than a year or so. We like our staff to stay a long time with us......

Interesting. Just had a call from the consultancy (note, not the agency). Very apologetic, saying that their hands are tied as they want me but have to present two candidates to ClientCo, and that ClientCo has a pretty unflexible calendar.
Yada yada yada, but the effort was made to reassure me. For that reason, I'm back in.

IMHO the contracts where they want 2-3 interviews generally turn out bad. If they treat you like a permie at this point, then you can pretty much know its not going to be good.
