The Dismissal by Employer or Employee - Working-in-Germany
The difference is that German business owners don't tend to want to hire and fire, unless using temporary workers or contractors. Seeing as many managers in Germany are skilled people who understand the trade they're managing, they value keeping experience and knowledge on board once they've invested in it. As opposed to many managers in the UK, US and increasingly NL, who are essentially unskilled overpaid ballast with MBAs.
