    Condolences d000hg. Console yourself with the fact that at least his suffering is now at an end and that in this instance you will all have had the chance to properly say your goodbyes.
    My old boy died of cancer almost 20 years ago after a fairly short illness so I know how you are feeling.
    Just remember the good times.
