It's good this thread isn't falling into crass generalisations.

Possibly cheap but she could refuse the share holding, lobby the board for regularising its tax status etc there would be an opportunity every year at the AGM she has a large enough shareholding.
she could voluntarily donate her shareholding to HMRC which is what she is effectively telling starbucks and co to do.

All it takes is some real "chance of life" misfortune and your life could have been very different, would you still hold the same views if you were born elsewhere, or if you had a seriously disabled child who required the amount of financial support that's impossible for 1 family to pay for (cerebal palsy can cost hundreds of thousands of pounds over a lifetime to support).

There's a massive difference between Bono and the thousands of people working to set right some of the injustices of the world.

To be fair to her, she is a minority shareholder so she can hardly direct corporate policy, now can she?

I do get what you are saying, and the rank hypocrisy of the left wing in general does irk me somewhat. However, I think that this is a bit of cheap-shot.

Personally, I'd much rather see more space dedicated to the Guardian's Cayman Islands based ownership or the Bermuda based company that manage HMRC's properties.
