Actually she's wrong. It does cache. But if you accidently come off the map it you cannot get back on it without refreshing it, which is what happened last weekend when having found the location I wanted in the middle of some outback location I got stuck on a hilltop outside San Diego with no way of finding said cache. Then I turned the phone on and some bloke on the data roaming service at Orange must have punched the air in excitement as I just paid for his fooking bonus.
