Well Ive managed to sort my problem out. This morning I drove to the Designer Outlet in York (I think they are all over the place though) and got quite a bit of stuff. First stop was Gap as another poster recommended and I got 4 or 5 things from there.

We've been to a car boot a couple of times recently to get some clothes for my other half to ship to her family in Africa. We were buying up people's entire stand - for about £5 per carrier bag or £10 per bin bag full. Managed to pull a few nice shirts and and couple of pairs of shorts out for myself. They're hardly worn. Its the kind of stuff people have bought and found its the wrong size of they just don't like it. I've got loads the same in my wardrobe - so they've ended up in the Africa box.

Top tip if you want to buy bulk... most people are asking about 50p - £1 an item. Just make an offer for the lot and don't let them count them 1 by 1. Point out that it works for them - instead of having 40 items left at the end of the day - they've made a profit.

This was the second shop I mentioned. Same cheap cloth but three times more expensive than the previous place.

TK Maxx used to sell some great stuff, not any more.

Been having real problems lately finding clothes that are good quality and reasonable price.

Today I went down the high street, and I go in one shop and a t-shirt is cheapish £10 and it looks like a thin piece of crap cloth, neck looks badly formed and stretched. Probably cost £2 to make. The next shop is selling similar ones for £30, they look about £2.50 worth.

Is there anywhere left that sells anything worth having?

I can find a half-decent shirt cheaper than a good T-shirt these days. £20-30 for a bloody T-shirt, how ridiculous.

I let you into a little secret - most of the chains use the same suppliers.

So you may as well buy it from Primark as M&S etc.

A T-shirt that cost £2 to make for £3, it's still crap but at least you don't feel ripped off.

It's the race to the bottom, they think we wont pay more so they reduce quality instead, this applies to everything in the modern world.

I dont know where my stuff comes from, the missus goes out with some of money, then comes back with some stuff. It works quite well

I do have one big massive regret though. We were up in the middle of Scotland about 6 or 7 years ago. There was snow on the ground and I needed some new kecks. So we went into an outdoor shop and I bought a pair of cheap lightweigt troosers.
They turned out to be windproof, water proof, easy to clean, and very very thin. elasticated at the ankles
they were made of teflon apparently.

I have never been able to find their like again. should have bought ten pairs. no... a hundred.
