Do specialist technologies like SharePoint increase the average salary in the MS domain? What about team leads - can they expect to earn much more?

Depends drastically on where you are. I am in Hampshire, when I was a permie last (just over a year ago) I was on 55k + benefits. I had about 12 years experience in ms c++.

Team leading can pay more but not necessarily, there are also fewer team leads than team members.

Having a specialist skill might get you more money but usually not IMHO. Normally a company wants, say, a share point expert so they just won't hire you unless you have the expertise.

If you are an expert in c++ and share point and they have vacancies for both at the same time, in the same place in a way that allows the roles to be combined then you can probably get some extra money. You can guess how often that happens.
