In my experience people can be born gay. A friend of the wife said she knew from her son being 2 that he was gay and this was a stable married couple with other children who are not gay. My stepdaughter has a few gay male friends and most of those come from good homes again with siblings who are not gay.

I agree, but 2 is a bit young isn't it?

I grew up with a friend who was gay and it was obvious to everyone else before it was for him, but I'd say it was junior school that he started to stand out as being a bit "different"

His life was a misery between 11 and 14 and I certainly don't think many would "choose" that lifestyle during my time.

I do however think that more people seem to experiment nowadays , due to fashion or whatever, but have absolutely nothing to back that up at all really! It could always be that the proportion hasn't changed and the social acceptance has worked.

WGS +1, if you accept sexual drive is a biological compulsion, sexual attraction is also a biological equation, it strikes me the mix of chemicals in the womb will determine not only gender but sexual orientation. Anyone who suggests otherwise especially those that believe it because their imaginary friend told them so is mistaken.
