    But commissioners were usually senior ex-army bods, with experience of policing in the colonies

    Presumably the quality of coppers will decline, in competence and probity, if senior ranks are drawn from outside the force.

    Well its a start I guess, but lots more to go.

    The home secretary told a conference of senior police officers the move would bring "greater diversity" to forces.
    Yes the person who holds a role purely on the fact she is a woman thinks even more people appointed not on merit but on ticking boxes of diversity has to be an improvement. Experience in the real world proves the opposite.

    well it might actually mean they rationalise their atrocious administration overhead.

    will fall apart as soon as someone dies under the 'new practices' despite the fact they would have died under the old spanish ones.


    was watching 'free speech' tonight or 'leftie speech' as it should be called. apparently the vicious DSA cuts imposed by the tories are responsible for 22 suicides?
