I'm not sure I'd agree with the argument that insanity does not equate to the cognitive ability to create, prepare and execute a plan of the scale. I think it's been shown the psychopaths are more than capable of controlled planning. Regardless of insanity/sanity he is definitely one sick puppy.

No-one 'sane' would do something like that IMO. Means his maximum sentence is 21 years..

+ extensions of 5 years so long as he considered a danger to public. He's highly unlikely to ever be released.

I'd have preferred the nutter verdict myself, as he would then be lost to obscurity. Now he can sit in his cell and write Mein Wank part deux. OTOH, he said he'd appeal a nutter verdict, which, apparently, would have caused more pain for the victims family.
