I see quite a lot of the Olympians have rings tattoos. I think they are pretty tasteful (the monochrome versions especially) and quite justifiable. But then a tattoo on an immaculately sculptured 6' 5" swimmer is always going to look better than on a fat hairy builder
A person with a tattoo on display will not do as well on average as someone without.
When you say on average, do you mean a true global average, or an average of all UK citizens, or what? And how are you quantifying "do as well"... annual earnings or something less objective?

No that's what you are saying. I would expect (wild generalisation time) the upper classes are still into them, although they don't need to shout about it.

What's a visible tattoo if your job invloves dressing formally? Not many people will have a tattoo on their face or hands.

Nothing ever changes things are lauded by the upper classes until the middle classes can afford them and similarly by the middle classes until the working class adopt them.
