WSS except I don't even bother hanging them up. During winter, spring and early summer I just wear jumpers (ranging in thickness) or shorts with no collars and summer tends to be short sleeved cotton or linen shirts which already look crimpled. Trousers are no problem as I wear black Levi 501s all the time. Been living in the same hotel with the same carry-on bag for nearly 3 years now and 2.5 years before that in a different hotel, no problems. I used to have a travel iron but never used it and most hotels here let you borrow one of have a room set up with one if you really need to (although if I find that a shirt looks too creased or I forgot to pack enough I just go and buy another one after work.)Last edited by darmstadt; 3 July 2012, 20:02. Shirt service FFS. Contractors these days...
Have a fresh, clean shirt delivered to your hotel every morning. And likely better quality than yer M&S crap.

A holdall and a few shirts on a hanger, hung up in the back of the car.
transfer the shirts straight into the wardrobe, so no need of an iron.
a bottle opener and a corkscrew. and a spoon

Bag lady is my look. As I said to the hiring manager lady week, 'Nobody ever got fired for wearing a shirt like this at this stage of a project.'Originally posted by Pogle View PostMy clothes are ironed on a Sunday and packed. They are hung up on arrival at the hotel and if the creases fall out, then they fall out. If they don't, then they don't.
I find people want me for my expertise and are not offended by my 'bag lady chic'

They're the DFS of the shirt world in the fact there's always an advert about their sale ending, but I have yet to see it finishOriginally posted by Spacecadet View PostT.M Lewin always have a 4(or 5) for £100 offer. They are nice shirts as well, just a bit on the boring side

Hang your shirts up in the bathroom, put the shower on really hot briefly and turn it off, leave said shirts in the bathroom to steam and teh creases will come out.
Failing that buy some decent shirts from T.M Lewin ( who always have a sale on), Thomas Pink or Gieves and Hawkes, and as earlier suggested drop them off at the dry cleaners on Friday and pick up Monday.
simples.

A landlady taught me how to iron shirts ready for folding, sort of how they come out of the packet but without the creases.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostGet at least one non-iron shirt - use this on Monday
Learn to fold your shirts properly
DO NOT fold your shirts staight after ironing, let them cool down first
make sure your shirts are packed for as short a time as possible
Do not over pack your suitcase
Hang your shirts up as soon as you get to your destination
If you've packed and folded your shirts properly, any creases will fall out within an hour of wearing
For long stays I have used a combination of service washes interspersed with proper hotel laundry in a ratio of something like 3 to 1. Smart casual shirts will look OK after a service wash from just hanging up, but you need the hotel laundry to refresh the creases on the collar every now and again.

I tried the travel iron bit when I wasn't returning home every weekend.Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostI, being a tight northern git, used to pack a travel iron and iron them in my room.
I blew the circuit breaker for the hotel room lights and couldn't find where it was.
That was an unexpected retreat to the bar for the evening.
Result though. I quickly worked out it was cheaper to use the hotel laundry than spend a whole evening in the bar.
