Though the wailing & gnashing of teeth afterwards isn't a pretty sight.

I have buried a fair few cats. But the missus keeps getting more.
The latest one is a black and white(tuxedo) male who thinks he is a human. When he wants to go out he jumps up on the worktop and hits the door keys in the lock making them jangle.
Recently he has started looking for the keys, even if they are not in the door
I think that cat is becoming sentient. Thats what I call evolution

They're nice and soft and furry, that's the most important part.
And cats do need dentists.

Cats are small and we are big.
Were it the other way around our deaths would neither quick nor painless (unless they were hungry).

Evolution
Finished Charles Darwin's ‘On the Origin of Species’ (3rd attempt) over the weekend combined with some observation of our cat made me realise how advanced she is.
Grooming: Built-in ‘brillo pad’ on her tongue and no requirement for soap etc.
Toilet habits: No requirement for toilet roll etc.
Sex: No messing around.
Shoes: Last a lifetime (well cushioned to avoid detection by the birds and mice).
Communication: Compared to humans, limited, but very effective - a simple purr or swish of the tail quickly communicates her mood.
Hunting: Self-sufficient when we’re away for a few days.
Sleep: 20 hours per day.
Pastoral care: They quickly tell us when their number is up and a quick visit to the vet avoids a slow and painful death.
Any thoughts?
