I have just called some company in Europe to ask if they need people. He "accuses" me of being a headhunter and then asks if I do recruitment for the "people" or the "money". I then get a lecture about putting people first and then he puts the phone down on me. Honestly what does he think I am?

Don't take it to heart. I was just training the permies here on how to treat recruitment agents. Mind you - the one you got lost marks for accusing you of being a headhunter, since that's what the run of the mill agents like to think of themselves.
