Nah, a far too courageous act of self-sacrifice. On Lucan's past history it just never would have happened.

Self interest, now that's a different matter...

He hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something.

    Five long years.

Mrs BP's father got a lift home on the back of GH's motorbike one night. They were both very drunk.

They don't make wives like they used to

The wife of missing aristocrat Lord Lucan, who disappeared after murdering his childrens' nanny, has told how she would have covered up his crime has he not turned on her and left her too badly injured to help.
The Countess of Lucan also admitted she still harbours feelings for her husband, despite the fact he beat her savagely with a lead pipe, leaving her with an inch-long scar on her forehead.

I was at Howletts today - maybe I should have asked Damian Aspinall?

Though I doubt John would have asked his secretary to book anything - she might have gone to the police.
I didn't know that but I used to watch the TV series 'Lucan' in the late 70's.

I was in the Diani Reef Beach hotel in Mombasa in the late 80s and an old codger who I thought looked like an old Lucan used to regularly drink in the hotel bar. I remember remarking on it at the time

Or maybe he expected her to go to police straight away so that they go into wrong direction... how mistaken he was in this case!
