He's not playing at 'class war'; he's getting himself publicity before he brings out a new book.

Employees in the private sector have taken a massive hit on their pensions over the last decade. They get bog all basically.

I think it has more to do with his latest DVD being released.

That's why they want him out; they see him as a traitor to their cause. Of course they know he was joking, but they hate him anyway.
Clarkson is not an employee of the BBC (and the BBC is not publicly owned).

Everybody should be taken out and shot in front of their families. That would be fairer.

Non-story but the Channel 4 news was funny.

One Labour and a guy defending Clarkson.

The guy defending said 'I don't think he meant it, I mean it's not as if Clarkson is known for sending around death squads to kill union members'

There was a loud guffaw from behind the camera and all three smirked, including the knobhead Labour who then went back to being all serious.

Labour politicians should be taken out and shot in front of their families.

    A bit harsh.

However a strike should involve some kind of protest which was non-existent yesterday.

Aren't the wasters the ones who won't work, live on benefits, and have no intention of working and should, IMO, be made to sweep the streets to get their dole. And in the rest of Europe having a kid doesn't give you a house and lead to the benefit lifestyle.

Not what he claimed though. He was trying to make out all the private sector workers were getting 50% cuts, in order to make the public sector look worse. As you mention job losses are bad in both sectors.

Most of those Public Sector workers who have or will lose their jobs have walked away with massive pay outs and before anyone tries to discredit this comment, know that these are people I've worked with and socialised with for a long time and even they can't believe how lucky they are as some have walked into jobs not long after.
