Just to address a point above; In general I don't think parking spaces in this country are big enough for large cars. Although you can quite happily park in them without trouble (I have a L200 crew cab) it does depend on the people next to you taking care when opening their doors and that is definitely not always the case. If my car was large and expensive I wouldn't trust leaving it in a station car park for example. Luckily I don't mind if it gets the odd bump as that's one of the reasons I bought it.
In the same vein, garages in this country are also too small. The doors are generally too narrow even if you can reverse in\out OK. It's all about making life easier.

seriously though, both spaces would have had to be empty for them to park like that, or there was bad parking on both sides of two spaces, which is unlikely. Either way chances are that they weren't forced to park badly.Last edited by Spacecadet; 28 November 2011, 16:10.

It's only necessary to straddle 2 spaces when some idiot in an adjoining space has parked badly, as a large 4x4 owner and driver I can testify that even my wife can get it in a normal car park space.Originally posted by Hill Station Murthy View PostTo be perferctly honest I have some sympatghy.
A lot of thesem lines in these car parks were painted in the days when cars were much smaller. Nowadays cars are bigger - we have the people carriers, four wheelers etc and sometimes it is necessary to straddle two spaces to prevent door dings from the neighbouring cra.
Personally I prefer to just park the car properly, blocking access to their drivers side door with my passenger side.
Only once has some been cretinous enough to leave a note, even though they're the ones who can't park
if you need more space or can't park then go and use a bit of the car park at the far end where no one wants to park

(insert classic 4chan picture of a flash car straddling two disabled bays, with the caption "Douchebags meet your king")

A non-story. It belongs to that guy that scammed 400k out of the benefits system, so currently has a valid disabled badge.

disabled people don't drive real cars then? Only a Ford Focus. I often use disabled bays and parent/child bays why should I get my door banged? And yes I'm disabled, I wear glasses and have a child she is 34.
