Bleh, the pud is too rich already - I find brandy butter or white sauce with booze in is just too much. A white sauce or custard nicely complement the richness IMO.

MrsF's lasagne is nicer after a day to mature as well.

Have something you like rather than go for Christmas pud (cos you have to). Having said that, a pud with plenty of nuts, fruit, booze and a bit less lard is lovely. With a bit of cream.
