Bleh, the pud is too rich already - I find brandy butter or white sauce with booze in is just too much. A white sauce or custard nicely complement the richness IMO.

My mum does the Christmas pudding at least a year in advance, to give it time to soak some of the alcohol in.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostMrs BP has just made xmas pudding - for Christmas 2012. They need at least a year to mature.
These days she often makes stews, curries and chillies a day early too. Some things need to mature. Unlike contractors who go off with age.
MrsF's lasagne is nicer after a day to mature as well.

I always make my chilli, bolog and curries a day before - tastes much better.

Have something you like rather than go for Christmas pud (cos you have to). Having said that, a pud with plenty of nuts, fruit, booze and a bit less lard is lovely. With a bit of cream.

Are the more natural ones any better or should I go with a less traditional option of sticky toffee pudding, or hot fudge cake, or spotted dick?

Chloe Sims and her driver look quite a seasonal couple.
She has a couple of boobs like Christmas puds, and his head looks like an Easter egg
