I was just annoyed by the inherent racism publicly expressed and not condemned when they put that forward as support for Visas.
How traditional? In my opinion its massively bastardised much like Chinese & Thai takeaways the food served is based on Banquet food that most natives wouldn't get to eat and are partially based on foreign recipes anyway. Persian/Chinese/European twists were added over the centuries.
They are then adjusted to the UK palate, if you eat in an Indian home the food is much dryer and normally not so rich or so carnivorous, most Indians in my experience lean towards vegetarianism due to religion and tradition. They also tend to have a very sweet tooth.
Obviously not being Bangladeshi I can't comment on Indian food but every occasion I have attended (hosted by many different people from that continent) and every time I have eaten in someone's home it has normally been simpler and less calorie laden (they leave that for the sweets) the meat course was the minority.

Not sure how far these meals are anglified anyway. Remember going to one place in Cleethorpes that had received an award for making the most authentic Indian meals and it was horrible.
