What the tulip is SKA ?
I mean, I know it's some search engine thingy (Majestic-12), but what exactly is that. I mean, why not just use Google
PS. Not a wind-up (okay, maybe just a tiny bit) - I just don't get what it's all about.

The more beer you drink the cheaper the hooker you are willing to use assuming cost is based on asthetics. Although the more beer you drink ahead of time the more perverted you may be, therefore driving up the cost.
There is also the cut off point where you have so much beer you pass out but still have to pay some 'handling charge' despite not using all services on offer.

People who take part in DC project often run their PCs 24/7, it's just one of those things that they do anyway. It's the first payout anyway, there will be more for sure but in any case I never wanted people to join project for the money, it's just we've got a bit of cash and it's fair to split it between people who helped make it happen.

There was a thread I started a couple of years ago about the cost of running a PC full on for a year, I think vectraMan got a power meter for a plug and worked out it was about 100 quid.
So if this guy has been running more than 2 machines he is at least 200 quid down for starters.

so a 1k payout over a 6 year / 72 month period equates effectively to just over £13 a month payment for allowing a volunteers pc to crawl during it's spare time.
now roughly guessing that a desktop uses 0.05 kWh energy per hour of usage with an average uk electricty cost of 10p p/kWh and they leave it crawling overnight while they're in bed (say 8 hrs)
so that equates to 0.5p/hr to use the computer
4p per day
£14.60 p/yr or £1.21 p/month
Not bad a £12 p/month profit for doing nothing

Right, I've done some maths and reckon you owe me 25 pence.
Where's my cheque dammit!
Congrats.

If I read the stats correctly, that one guy was responsible for over 10% of your entire crawling?
