As others have said - get a wheel along, looks like no-one carries them in here.
BUT - your body is more than capable of carrying that weight over long distances, especially properly supported in a backpack. You just need to give it time to adapt to the increased requirement, couple of weeks should do and you will feel better for it/use more calories etc
In other words - man up woman.....
Thanks for that info, I think I'm going to get the MacBook Air and try and flog the EliteBook. Means i'll lose money but what can you do...! If i'm in pain after a week that's not a good sign!
Wrap it up and give it to him for Xmas, another thing off the To-do list
wrap it in a plastic bag, like a tesco carrier or something, and hide it in the cistern in one of the bogs. Put a big L on the door so you remember which one
Compatability not an issue - I need to run MS project, so I stuck a copy of paralells on the mac, installed windows and project, runs seamlessly inside a window on the air. Solid state disks so starts and stops quickly. I bought the 11" for travelling, but should on reflection have gone for the 13, as the weight is negligeble for both.
Client lumbered me with an HP Elitebook - it weighs a ton in comparison.

was going to get that, the software i use isn't compatibe with Mac yet - but yeh I think I might do this, no way can I carry that into and out of London everyday on the tube where I mostly never get a seat..!

Get it on ebay right away, and use the money as a downpayment on a macbook air - absolutley brilliant bit of kit. Runs windows as well, if need be. Your health comes first.
Wait a week the new ones are out soon and have core processors.
thats a £1,600 laptop, hubby should have recommend a Lenovo Thinkpad X220, also a core i7 processor but over 1/3 lighter, far better for your needs IMO
