When they performed it live they had a Revox reel to teel tape recorder on stage, obviously playing the mix.Originally posted by doodab View PostClever use of multitracking on that track to do the vocal harmonies. They actually sung each note in the scale and looped it, then fed it through the mixing desk and pushed the faders up and down to play chords.

Probably more all the garden implement stimuli around you than that particular song.Originally posted by xoggoth View PostWas at garden centre with missus a few weeks back and they started playing House of the Rising Sun. Similar thing happened to me at our local garden centre a few weeks back. They were playing the Nick Stroker Band and I experienced similar sensations to yourself.
I since concluded that these were caused by my being in close proximity to a John Deere sit on mower.

Hmmm - on googling I may have been misled.
A couple of sources do agree though. Rock Band Name Origins at WHAT'S IN A NAME
LOVIN' SPOONFUL - 1) from the lyrics of the old song "Coffee Blues". Possibly a drug reference to the spoon used to heat & melt drugs such as heroin for use. 2) Also that the amount of the sperm ejaculated by the average male is about a spoonful (see also the band 10cc
