    NS&I inflation linked bonds look good to me. Just opened one for myself and another for the Mrs. 5.5% tax free, linked to the RPI, which personally I can't see coming down a great deal , if at all - hyperinflation appears just as likely if we get more QE.

    There seems to be no catch. Except they don't have a lot of overhead.

    I use an account with their German part as a "parking" account. Generates nice interest.

    It's variable rate, inversely correlated to mean global temperatures.
