You need to work on your sequence of tenses. It should be, 'I saw this when we lived...'. You no longer live there, so the present perfect tense should not be used.
Having worked in Shepherd's Bush and lived on the edge of Bradford and lived in Coventry, I am very accustomed to seeing people wandering around in their pyjamas. They're called Asians.
The only difference is they wear sandals instead of slippers, and they don't have kitties printed on their clothes.
I normally get up early and spend the early part of the day in my bath robe, until it's time to go out at which point I will shower and dress. I would never go to the shops in my bathrobe. Never.
Although I might go commando in some dirty jeans if I was in a hurry.
