You're confusing Durham with Sunderland possibly. Durham is a nice place. Except when all the hick villagers come to "the city" for Friday/Saturday night and ruin it.

I prefer to be on Swiss income but have German expenses.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostForget the list. I live in Switzerland therefore automatically qualify as rich enough, as there are no poor people here. At least, none worth speaking of.
Working class English go to Spain, the middle class to France. Only the best end up in CH.*
* but I managed to sneak in anyway.
That way I get the benefit of well established customers but I don't have to live among them.

They've got bilateral treaties with the EU, so there's the same freedom of movement. However, in order to be a plumber here, you have to go through two years of training, so it's just as difficult to find one as it ever has been.

As for London, watch The Apprentice to se where Sugar puts the contestants. Not to mention 10 Downing street is terraced.

I'll be rich when I can afford (cash) a big house on many acres of land in the SE of England. Till then, I'm a pauper.Originally posted by russell View PostPeople who talk about how well off they are are ALWAYS one of the following
a) Lying and are poor
b) Oinks who came into what they think is a lot of money (i.e. 50k)
People with lots of money never boast about it, because to them its normal
