I have mixed feelings on this.
I detest charity muggers in the street. However, I was in Manchester market street on Wednesday afternoon and saw Japanese collecting for the Red Cross, which was rather emotional given things just now.
I want to get on with colleagues, so very happy to chuck a quid in the bucket for the priveledge of removing my tie. No issues with that at all.
However, I prefer to actually give time to charity, rather than money. I feel this because the government is using peoples money through this means rather than funding essential aspects of charity work themselves.

Surely they should be spending this money for the good causes all year round and as much as possible ? Or is it a case that they cannot spend it all it once, which if so, why are they trying to raise even more ? Doesn't seem to make sense in my mind.
