Might be relevant to mention that us oldies only went to university if we had ability, unlike the current lot who have a "right" to higher education and put off paying any tax for 3/4 years even though in many cases it is of no use to either them or society.

In 1968-9 there were 410,000 full-time students in Great Britain, while in 2008/2009, there were around 3.4 million. The number in universities alone was 1.97 million in 2007, nearly 5 times the total 1968-9 higher education figure.

Umm. The baby boomers paid their taxes and pension contributions. On top of that they were asked to get private pensions.

The private pensions got raided by Gordon Brown.
Other pension schemes go bust or some boss runs of with the money and “Jumps off his yacht”.
The government spend the pension money subsidizing arms manufacturing and spending on wars.
No money left in the pot, blame the general public and tax them even more.
