I don't think Stalin had much to do with Communism. More like a weird form of anarcho-fascist dictatorship with plenty of corruption, jobs for the boys, and mass murder too.Originally posted by DundeegeorgeI thought that 'stalinism' referred to the practice of communism or socialism within one country. My understanding, probably wrong, as it was provided by the WRP, is that stalin betrayed the internationale by not driving communism throughout the world, but rather concentrated on making russia communist (of course cynics might say, once you have power in your own country you don't have to pretend to be concerned with the plight of the 'chained workers' in other countries, because you're too busy cementing your own powerbase at home. 'Hello, Joe, are we going to march on Germany and overthrow the democratic dictatorship today?', 'sorry, Leon, I've got to sign these 300,000 death warrants for dissidents, you know how it is. Maybe we'll march on Germany tomorrow, eh?'.)

Which suggests, as I'm sure you would agree, little real understanding of the methods of Uncle Joe.

Old coot calls for fairer Britain

And starts off by increasing taxes to 50%
Yes...lets have a fairer country where those who actually create wealth are taxed more (thus FORCING them in to dodgy tax avoidance schemes).
Stupid old coot should stop reading NL rubbish!
