Depends on the circumstances. Sainsburys use 2 underwriters, can't remember who they are, but for me JS were about 70 quid cheaper than direct with either of the 2 companies who actually provide the cover.

Thanks for that BP - £60 cheaper! I'll look into that when the renewal comes up. Ta!

Having just finished a contract with R*S I can state that Tesco, Directline, NIG, Pru, Churchill, AA, Green Flag , & others I've forgotten all use the same infrastructure only difference is in the rating applied.

What is suprising is how much your choice is restricted - branding is all it's about!!

You might want to try first alternative for a quote on such a car

Yeah I found that this year so I let the old policy expire and started a new one at the lower price. They even sent me a letter asking me for proof my NCD, so I sent them their old policy back

Just done mine as well. Quite honestly your lot were one of the most expensive. Went with direct line in the end, cheapest by £50 and with better cover.

    Try www.confused.com and www.its4me.uk.

Avoid Wilsons of Manchester if my experience is anything to go by.

P.S. I was going to add that in addition to the Police & Vehicle inspectorate being present, HM Immigration services were also on hand...I wonder why?
It was getting quite common in the Thames Valley area esp. Windsor and Slough. Plod would set up a van with a camera, on a long stretch of road, and down would be a couple of bike Plod ready to flag down an offender.

But the problem is that the fines for driving without insurance are less than the cost of a years insurance. Doh. Even Scrotes can put two and two together.

Here in Luton they prefer speed cameras.
