True. But beside the point. The reason that technophobes and consumer victims worship Apple, is that they've been brainwashed into believing the arrogant, over-hyped propaganda that "it just works", and other technologies are fraught with difficulties.

I've a Nokia N97 smartphone. It has its shortcomings, but crashing regularly isn't one of them. One of the advantages non-Apple smartphones have is that many apps that you have to pay for with the Apple device are free.

Not a problem, we've still got iPhones 1 - 3 as our backups.

Oh no! Millions of new media creatives will miss their 11:00 Starbucks meeting with Toby and Miles to brainstorm the new flash intro for the Sunny-Delight-Sponsors-Watercolour-Challenge promotional microsite. How will the wheels of industry keep turning?

I have an Android phone that I got off ebay for about £100. It crashes about once a day. Although it does have a custom ROM so that's probably a large part of the cause. I need to reflash it with a new ROM and see if that helps.

I must admit as a phone my Desire isn't as good as my old Nokia but on the other hand it has way more functionality than my laptop so for that reason I wouldn't want to be without it.

    I don't see it as a phone, more of a mini computer/email client/media player/web browser/GPS/Camera with a phone thrown in.
