would that be people who think that having a command of the history, art, language, philosophy and literature of two millennia-old civilisations is harder than re-doing your A Level maths in a different order?

Christianity can also be studied scientifically. It's called "Theology". You can get a degree in it. It's rated somewhat more highly than, e.g. media studies. At least, among people who think a degree in Classics is better than one in, e.g. Physics.

Or an ant. There is a greater mass of ants on the planet than all other animals combined.

If you feel insulted it lies more in your defensive interpretation.

And you must admit that being a faithful believer in a religion cuts down on the unanswered questions and on the issues where you have to figure out your own moral standpoint since many answers are found in "the book".

Ctrf-F is easier than internal argumentation.

    Right?
Firstly, I didn't say I was religious. I'm not. It's not about me.

Secondly, you did insult them, no wriggling out of it. Here it is again:

So I ask again, what do YOU get out of insulting religious people?

Is it an enjoyment of putting people down? Intolerance of those who are different to you? Or is it a wish to spoil the positive things a lot of people get from something that you don't?

The pictures are of the same person.

It shows that at the baseline, assume total relaxation, there is a certain amount of brain activity in some regions of the brain.

In the picture to the left it show the same person when he is meditating, ie. thinking as hard as possible about his religious beliefs. A little more activity is spotted. But it is still very far from using a lot of the brain.

There is no indication of this test person being anywhere near "smart".
Congratulations on getting a Medical degree, where did you study? Where are you pratcing now?
