My guess is that the UK is going to get very cold. On the plus side, the pension funding gap should go away and we might stop being tulip at winter sports.

I'm very worried that the natural warming and cooling every 60 years will be interrupted by the effects of CO2, and we'll get static temperatures. This would be a disaster, causing dry areas to get drier, wet areas to get wetter, cold regions to become even colder and warm regions to get hotter.

A Devon smallholder has planted an olive grove with the aim of cashing in on global warming.
Mark Diacono, 39, has planted 120 trees on his 17-acre plot near Honiton in east Devon.

He is also growing almonds, apricots and persimmon and even plans to experiment with exotic paw paw.

Mr Diacono aims to bring in his first olive oil within the next seven years but just in case, he has planted an olive species used to frost and snow.

Environmental consultant Mr Diacono said the olive grove was a way of taking advantage of the climate change which was taking place.

Another day another excuse as to why Global Warming isn't behaving as expected.

The same could be said for physics for the last hundred years. The whole point of science is you don't make a theory and then leave it set in stone, you test it and if it doesn't behave as predicted you look to find why... maybe the idea is good but there are extra subtleties, maybe the whole thing doesn't fly.

Saying GW isn't happening simply because things don't match as expected is unscientific. It might not be, but it's a ferociously complicated many-value system.
