For a while I had a colony of ants in the kitchen. They were quite useful for cleaning up the crumbs, but they were a lot of work so I got got rid of them.

Had a dog when I was self employed and could work locally.
Contracting away from home isn't compatible with having a dog, though if I had a family that wouldn't be a problem.
