Yes. I can play about 2 hours worth of WoW on my UPS so I'll be happy. Mind you, the coffee will have to be consumed cold.

One of these big boys might be able to keep your fridge, washing machine, TV and kettle going for a day - 12kVA!

    £2,500, quite a reasonable price.

When I was a kid one of my mates didn't have mains electricity. However his family did have a big **** off diesel generator (think those big bastards that they use at fairgrounds) that could rip your arm off or throw you across the shed if you weren't careful when you tried to start it.

...it can’t be long before thousands of petty criminals discover the perfect carousel fraud, bypassing their solar panels by connecting the incoming wire to the outgoing wire. By buying electricity for 7p and selling it for 44p (if you sell power to the grid rather than using it yourself, you get an extra 3p(17)), they’ll make a 600% profit.

That was my thoughts. When the subsidies disappear let them chase HMRC for their dosh. Plus I may wish to downsize sometime soon so even a short-term gain is worth considering. Might have to sweet-talk the Listings people mind you.

Anyone considered taking this sort of offer up?
Am mulling it over at the moment as one of the roofs of my property is south facing and of a suitable size.

    Think of the children/planet/savings!!

    Interesting view in the comments:

The FiT scheme, as it stands, has little to do with alternative energy and a lot to do with providing a nice little earner for the cabal of solar/wind installers that helped push the legislation through.
Your very own George Monbiot has pointed this out and I refer any interested parties to this link:

Mine had the little LEDs that displayed the speed. Good for building up the old forearm muscles
