If it was a clue, it ain't particularly cryptic.

I suspect this act of which gimpboy speaks is something that exists purely in his head. Cos I haven't heard of it.

I wonder if Tatchell will try to do a citizens arrest of the Holy One? He tried that little ruse with McGabe (though in that instance I think there may have more than a bit of public support).

However I can't quite bring myself to visualise being grabbed by Tatchell

The ancient Greeks practiced what we would now term paedophilia, properly it’s termed pedestry where an older man tutors younger men/boys and in return received sexual/erotic services mainly just fondling as shown on many Greek vases as opposed to outright buggary as to be penetrated was felt to be a shameful, although the act of penetrating was not. It was also viewed dimly to carry this teacher /pupil relationship on after the boy had started to grow a beard i.e. became an adult.

As a society we still view homosexuality with suspicion as is attested to by the recent soaps. This is mainly due to our Christian culture even if we are now much more secular, the tradition and culture still pervades. Christians who oppose homosexuality refer to a few obscure passages in the bible, but I believe the reason is more philosophical and based in early Christianity which borrowed heavily from Greek culture when producing it’s dogma. Many Greek philosophers believed that the abstinence from carnal relations helped you concentrate on becoming closer to the divinity and also that early Christians believed that Christs return was imminent and that there was no point in producing the next generation. When this seemed that maybe they would have to wait a little longer carnal relations between men and women were allowed for procreation purposes but no pleasure was to be taken. This is what makes homosexuality wrong i.e. its just for pleasure and not for procreation.
WTF is a sensible and reasoned argument doing on CUK??

What's wrong with doing things just for pleasure? What else is music or art or strolling in the country about? And who needs procreation in a world of 6bn people?

I am not sure that the media and ads have that much to do with it. Sexual exploitation of children is pretty rife in the third world.

A bloke in work was kicking off about how terrible it was that Elton John had male dancers dressed as scouts (this is going back 12 years). Sexploitation of the child and all that. The week before he was telling the office how great it was that the Stranglers used to tour with female dancers dressed as school girls.

He did not take kindly to the young graduate making a fool out of him in front if his peers.

It's a complicated matter, not made easier by the objectification of young women in the media.

Natalie Portman in Star Wars = legally acceptable in a lot of places

Natalie Portman in Leon = you're on the register
