OK, extreme example. But as she said, she's been MP there a long time. If the people have been happy with her work, the fact she did something wrong doesn't have to mean much... in reality I think most people would take extra money if they could get away with it despite all the bluster. Maxing out expenses is like getting out of paying tax in many people's eyes... entirely fine if you can avoid getting caught.
