This poll was 24 hrs too early, I was willing to give the new mods a chance with their new "powers". However after last night and most of this morning, there seems be be a lack of communication, coupled with some very vocal & childish posts.

Well, what did I say?
Anyone who voted against maybe would care to admit that they were wrong?

My block of flats has a management company and the director is the person that is most bothered and interested in the upkeep of the flats.
Fan clubs tend to be run by the most ardent and involved fans
Neighbourhood watch schemes tend to be run by the street busy bodies who are most involved in watching the neighbours...
Examples ad infinitum....
You can't really have leading people put themselves forward for these types of roles if they are not involved and interested in the topic in hand. Nothing worse than occasional manager who doesn't have a finger on the pulse and is actively doing what he has signed up for.
IMO an anonymous mod with who occiasionaly comes in and does what he does and then goes is total fail. How would that work in the other examples.
I would also say it isn't uncommon for these groups to be a little unstable and can devolve in to bun fights for one reason and another, mainly due to the nature of it being volunteer based by people who are interested and NOT always by people that should. I think we should cut everyone that bothered to offer to help some slack. There will be inconsistent views, opinions and also a bit of favourtism etc... thats just how it is. We should be big enough to understand that to some extent.

I think it may have been better for the new mods to be anonymous, as being a mod will undoubtedly lay their posts open to more criticism than us mere mortals. Although I guess that would have caused its own conspiracy/favouritism theories!
