The PCG are so crap on this subject they honestly look to me like they work for the other camp.

IMO the message should also be about the barely-above-minimum-wage rates being advertised for some highly skilled roles.

You see, what you have said there is still not correct. What we should calculate is the rate x number of contractors/bench. That way we can see the value of the contracting market and how it has changed!

Why should Joe Bloggs care about the size of the contract market? Rates for contractors are pretty high and few will have sympathy for any rate cuts or the size of the market share diminishing. Being jobless and claiming unemployment due to being undercut by Bob is another matter.

Reading that I do wish people would not blurt out fixed day rates, 300 hundred a day gets turned into 75 grand a year and then the message is instantly turned against us.

It doesn't matter how you spin it, even if you say £300/day is more like £40k/year, it's way more than the masses make in every-day jobs and the average Sun reader is going to think you're Mr MoneyBags.
