The market picked up dramatically on Friday (4 calls in, 2 calls out - 3 agents sending my CV 3 separate clients). It then died on Monday.

What's your trick eliquant (apart from constantly reskilling? - I'm looking at getting my bridging ITIL V3 qualification end of Feb if I don't get anything by the end of next week...)

really good to hear that you're back on track Richard Cranium after your 1 year of discontent - I've been there many years ago - but wised up to it and learned how best prevent that from happening to me - ever again.

The first non-mentalist gig I have had for many years. I'm needed for what I can get done and what I know, not for being able to salvage bits from a car crash of a project in a mental institution.

    With top totty.

    I'm a very happy bunny.

Plus ... there have been 3 other niche area PM gigs advertised in the past 2 weeks and so the mobile keeps ringing with desperate agents (which made child @ Computer People's call to my desk phone stand out as different) and my rate is higher than the other 3. I really do feel like I have landed on my feet for once.

They don't piss about with 'how are you finding the market' pish and get the job done IMO.
    Bollocks.

Worst agency I've ever had the misfortune to come across.

And you still owe me money ya bunch of cnuts

Agreed ....... I mean lets be honest, we all know Richards struggle at finding work for the past year. That suggests his CV is not exactly 'competitive' ......... you would think after the 299th time of applying that he would have got the message.

I fail to understand what is difficult about this. If you get replies, and interviews, and contracts, and repeat calls, from most if not all of the agencies that you contact and some that you haven't, except that one single agency distinguishes itself from the rest by never replying, then the problem is clearly not you, but that agency. That is my experience with CP, and other people's too.

Fairly pointless kicking off at Computer People about that. The signs are there.

I think we have all seen that attitude born out over a year of 'I can't get a job and it is everyone else's fault' posts.
Nope. What you say is plausible in the abstract, but I had already noticed in boom times years ago that CP never replied, and it wasn't my CV or skills because I was breezing into one contract after another. And I'm sorry, terse replies might be understandabe, 100% lack of reply is not just normal behaviour for a decent agency.
