A prosperous new year for us all.

Put the bad times behind and focus on the possibilities for the future.

Indeed we all are. And there is not a thing we can do about it. Last year has gone and it will not be back. Or will it?

It's consequences remain with us. Debts, commitments, contracts and promises came through the transition with us. But so did our memories, our family, our friends and our assets. We may not have all the positives we with which we started 2009 but that makes those we still have all the more valuable. When our assets and investments get depleted by circumstance, perhaps that is a sign to put more of what we have left into what remains to us: spend time with the people we care for instead.

I would wish everyone a peaceful 2010. No new wars, no new economy-wrecking scandals, no natural or unnatural disasters. More compassion, sympathy, empathy and consideration.

Are we there yet? Not yet. But let's try and see how we get on.
