One should always remember, that in a civilised society heading toward collapse, the ruling classes keep the middle classes occupied in pointless exercises to put off the inevitable for as long as possible.
Look at the fall of the Roman Empire for examples of similar behaviour.
The barbarians are not at the gates, they are with us already.
They are the TPTB...

Totally on AtW's side on this one so for once I will put the right capitals.
Society (provided the state keeps its side of the unwritten contract and it is doubtful if it does) should expect reasonable restraint but it should not expect us to be saints. Taking violent action when the threat is over probable deserves a conviction technically but the sentence did not take reasonable account of the provocation.
Anyone ties my family up and threatens them I would do the same as should all of us. There is a time for being civilised and a time for knowing civilised behaviour is not an adequate response.
Actually, this chap did everyone else a favour, unfortunately, the benefit has been undone by a ridiculous legal system which seems to have forgotten what it is for.

Of course that demands a degree of cunning and skill you do not possess AtW. So in your case might as well just get on and die in battle. That is the Russian way after all.

Even if they did they'd get shot soon - they'd probably shoot someone else, true however after that they'd be dead and no longer present constant danger to society.
I suppose it's a question of what philosophy you follow: choose live in fear hoping to save your life, or confront your fear even if it carries the risk of dieing: better death in battle than on yer knees begging.

If they did this to trash like them, then maybe the message would get through to the other brainless fckwits that plague society, that we are no longer willing to tolerate this kind of behaviour from what are essentially barely sentient antisocial animals.
I no longer have any tolerance for this kind of behaviour, I don't care if they are 14 or 40, society is better off with them removed from the gene pool. permanently.
