They are great when the permie project manager has a habit of quietly sneeking up behind you when you are posting tulipe on CUK.

SWMBO's laptop has one (a 14" widescreen one, to be precise) and the picture quality is way better than trad TFTs. However, as you suspect, you have to be careful of where the light is coming from, because they do reflect quite badly, even with the brightness turned right up.
