When Kirk Douglas's son Eric was first trying to establish himself as a standup comedian, he played a club in New York, but didn't do a very good job of it.
The crowd grew increasingly restless and soon started heckling vigorously. Losing his temper, he shouted "Don't you know who I am? I'm Kirk Douglas's son!"
A member of the audience immediately stood up and shouted "I'm Kirk Douglas's son!" Then another... and another... and another...
He left the stage to the accompaniment of the entire audience on their feet shouting "I'm Kirk Douglas's son!"
