Also, there are two cheap hotels within walking distance of Northarbour. The first is the Marriott, which is a pretty standard hotel with swimming pool, etc. The second is I think the Tulip Inn, the other side of the Harbour Lights pub, next to the Marriott. The IBIS is a cheap, no frills hotel.

Eating wise, you have Gunwharf in Portsmouth, which has loads of restaurants. Plus you have Port Solent which is five minutes from Northarbour by car. Loads of places to eat there.

If your working in Northarbour, it will take you about 25 minutes in rush hour to get into the centre of Pompey, mainly due to the weight of Traffic on the M275.

Your best bet would be to find somewhere in either Portchester, where I live, or Cosham, meaning you'll be 5 minutes away from work.

I don't know much about Portsmouth... but if Rickshaws is still in existance, give it a try, especially if you haven't tried mongolian food before.

I know a good B&B near Havant, the Meadow View (formerly the Cripple Creak guest house). But it's probably a good 20 minute drive to Portsmouth, or longer in rush hour traffic, and there's no point commuting as well as B&Bing it.

The owner originally called it the Cripple Creak after himself, as he had a tin leg following a motorbike accident some years ago. But his wife persuaded him to rename it the Meadow View.

There is no reason to stay in Portsmouth itself and I would look further away if I were you.

I was a little bit upset when the Tricorn Centre was demolished. It should have been kept as an example of how not to build a shopping centre.
