I always tried to get by with just the one, but yesterday I was told by a pimp he wouldn't be putting me forward for a role because I didn't meet all the stated criteria !

The only one I failed on.................

My CV : Test analyst, Test design

    Pimp Requirement: Test Definition

This is how silly it's getting out there.

Shuffling papers? Are you sure you work in IT? What about having CVs on your PC/Mac/Misc/AS400/Vax (Delete as applicable)

I've got three major ones each of which are tweaked to the spec.

Everyone says it's a good idea to tailor CV's to the role you're applying for, but I find it takes too long to do it, would rather get the "generic" across to the pimps ASAP.

There must be a lot of paper shuffling going on in the background when an agent phones up

Agent "Hello, is that Joe Bloggs?"

Contractor: "Yes, hello. Who are you?"

    Agent: "I'm Ivor"

Contractor: <lots of furious shuffling of papers>

    Contractor: "Ivor who?"

    Agent: "Ivor Jobforyou"

    Contractor: <More frantic shuffling>

Agent: How many years experience do you have of XYZ?

Contractor: Erm <Continued shuffling>. Which agency are you from?

    etc

Three, routing and switching focussed, security focussed and managery focussed.

Not vastly different, just emphasize/de-emphasize different skills/experience.

I used to maintain one for games-related jobs, and another for more traditional software.
