We were busted by the admin of a Trucker's website (of all places) due to this a couple of years ago. All rather embarrassing really.

If a usually quiet website suddenly gets a lot of referrals from one source and the administrator is switched-on they go looking to find out why.

OK, let's say you own a forum. All of a sudden one or two of your members start to troll, then another, then another. Then you realise that all the trolls came from the link on CUK. Then you ban everyone who joined up from that link. Simples!

If everyone has to copy and paste the link there's no referral

I guess it's a fairly common troll gambit; but if someone wants to try, I'd suggest presenting yourself as a died-in-the-wool muslim, leftie, or whatever, who has started being tormented by doubt about some trifling issue, and over time draw in more and more of these contrary considerations.
