    I was askewd by an agent if I would consider a gig 100 miles away for £200/day; I told him that for that the lowest would be £300/day. I don't see any difference between £200/day and being a permy. In the current climate I would do £250/day if it was not more than 45min away but would be always looking for something better paid.

    I seen another gig adverised for £190/day, are people actually applying for these?

    Isn't it just seasonal variations? I expect an upward turn in Sep/Oct : but only due to the time of year.
