If you never read one, how do you know it's not good reading for adults?

Typical pretentious snobbery. For most people, books are about story-telling, not scintillating writing as art.

I did read childrens books as a child, but like I said, Adults getting into child like activities is indicative of the rise of the Kidult and the blameless society IMHO. The only treatment is a slap with a wet Kipper.

Saw it on Saturday, at IMAX, I didn't realise the first 10 mins were in 3D - rather marvellous to behold.
The CGI was seamless and the sets and the look of it was excellent.
Enjoyed it, but a bit of an anti climax for me I'm afraid.

I was distracted a little by the girl sat next to me, who spent the whole film rustling popcorn and farting loudly (no it wasn't Pogle Jr)

Would rather set fire to my own face than experience any Harry Potter or LOTR but if that's what floats your boat fair enough.
Edit : to answer the "how do you know" - was subjected to HP by ex wife and tried reading LOTR - just doesn't appeal.

Exactly.... it's all about personal taste. A lot of people like Pratchett and I have to say I'd rather gouge my own eyes out with a spoon that read that drivel... but it's a personal choice.
